Students will apply concepts learned from Algebra 1 and Geometry to more complex concepts of math, particularly in solving equations

Materials Needed:

Students will need a multiple paper for assignments, pencils, highlighters, 2 or 3 inch three ring binder with subject dividers, and a graphing calculator (if possible) or scientific calculator. No cell phones as calculators.

We have a new curriculum called Eureka Math. The books will be used for notes and assignments. If they are lost or destroyed, you will be charged full price for a new book. You will fall behind in class if this happens. This book is your lifeline if you want to pass.

Course Expectations:

Students are to be in class on time with materials needed for the day. Students are only allowed three tardies. Anything after the third is a detention. Students are expected to take notes during lecture. Following lecture, homework will be assigned. When absent, you have 3 days to complete your work. I expect full participation in this class. This includes asking questions and coming in on your own time for extra understanding of the homework at the time.

Quizzes and Tests:

Exit tickets will be after every lecture, with an assignment given after.

There will be Mid Unit Quizzes and End of Unit tests. If you get a 90% or higher on the quizzes or tests you will get 10 pts extra credit towards homework.

Classroom rules:

No cell phones during lexture. Parents please do not text or call you child while they are trying to learn. If it is an emergency, please call the office. You have to call the office to get them out anyways. Thank you
No food, gum, or drinks in the room.
Respect your peers and authority.
