Secondary Physical Education
David Dodge will be entering his 20th year as Secondary Physical Education Teacher for the Byers School District. This will be his 34th year in education. He grew up in Strasburg, where he and his family reside. He received his B.A. from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Mr. Dodge has taught and coached at both the college and high school levels. He has previously served as the Defensive Coordinator at Bethany College and was the Head Baseball Cacoh at Bethany College. He has previously served as head coach for Byers high school football (17 years), is currently Head Baseball (20th year), currently Head girl's Basketball (11th year) and previously Head Boy's basketball (1year). He served as Athletic/Activities Director for 9 years and served on the CHSAA Baseball Committee. He has coached junior high football, junior high boy's basketball, and junior high girl's basketball. He has been a Senior class sponsor and helped sponsor the Senior trips to Texas, California, and Hawaii.
He is a member of the Colorado High School Coaches Association, American Football Coaches Association, Colorado Coaches of Girl's Sports, and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
Although daily teaching, practices and games leave Mr. Dodge little time to spare, he enjoys watching his grandkids' activities, traveling, golf, bowling, cooking and gardening.
Mr. Dodge has three children: Dustin (Missy), Jordan, and Taylor. He has two grandchildren. His wife, Jolene, also works for the district as an elementary P.E. teacher and coach.
